Eastern Koel (juvenile)

Here's a juvenile Eastern Koel from our place in Bondi. He has spent the last three days begging from the same spot in the same tree. Its host appears to be a Red Wattlebird.

  1. your site is very informative.I have been interested in the Dartford since I was about 12 when I stumbled across a bird book and was suprised to see a bird named after my home town even tho it no longer exsists on the heath where it was first studied and that it was rare.I ve never seen one in the wild or in captivity thankfully. I believe that averies are cruel, imagine being able to fly but no space to really do it. I now live Cornwall anyone no if they exsist here?
